Authentically American Creating Jobs
In 2016, nearly 98% of apparel purchased in the USA was imported. That statistic, Dean Wegner's history in the apparel and packaged goods industries, and his passion for America motivated him to bring jobs back to America.
Dean saw an opportunity and created Authentically American, LLC to provide high-quality custom branded corporate products Made in USA and put his fellow Americans back to work.
Meet Dean Wegner, Founder and CEO
After earning his undergraduate degree at the United States Military Academy – West Point, Dean served 7-years as an officer, helicopter pilot, and Army Ranger. While in the Army, he earned his MBA in Finance from California State University and launched his career with former Big 5 Firm, KPMG Consulting as a Project Manager.
For 10+ years, Dean was in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry at Procter & Gamble and Mars, Inc. in Business Development, Sales, Marketing, and Strategy. Dean was also a Division I ice hockey player, which fits his highly competitive nature and winning spirit.
Prior to starting Authentically American, Dean served as the President and CEO/Owner of Omega Apparel for 5 years. Omega was a leading supplier of dress uniforms for the US Military. Under Dean’s leadership, Omega expanded into the commercial market and launched a professional services business. He executed a buyout with his former partner in 2017, which enabled him to focus exclusively on launching Authentically American and building an iconic American brand.
A Passionate and Principled Leader
Dean is a highly motivated, passionate leader who delivers breakthrough results. He credits his personal values of character, integrity, commitment, patriotism, and his Christian Faith for his thriving businesses relationships. Dean is a true servant leader who believes in building long term partnerships with his customers, suppliers, and business partners.
Dean believes in giving back to the community in which he lives and works. He volunteers in many capacities with his church, as a youth ice hockey coach, and with non-profit organizations. When his vision for Authentically American began, he knew a significant part of the plan was to give 10% of the topline revenue to Veteran focused non-profits to help honor our American Heroes.
He is happily married to his bride Kelly of 23-years and they have four children, their youngest being adopted from Ethiopia in 2012. Dean enjoys being an active member of his church and serving as a board member for companies and nonprofit organizations.
Focused on Growth and Engagement
At Authentically American, Dean’s primary focus is on growth and building a highly engaged team and a winning culture. “Corporations now have the opportunity to choose to stand apart from their competition with Made in USA branded apparel. Their choice to support American manufacturing helps create jobs in our great nation. That’s what it is all about, job creation!” Dean says.
